Wake On Lan Tool Update verfügbar

Für das Wake On Lan Tool steht das Update 2.0.2.5 zur Verfügung. Folgende Neuerungen sind enthalten:

• Spalten können nun beliebig sortiert und vergrößert werden. Die Position/Größe der Spalte wird gespeichert.
• Das WOL2 Fenster merkt sich seine Position und seinen Status.
• WOL via TCP/IP Option wurde entfernt. (Die Option war nur für WOL via Internet gedacht, jedoch nie aktiv. Die verwaisten Einstellungen sind nun weg.)
• Pro host kann nun der MagicPacket Sendemodus eingestellt werden. (Broadcast, NetCast oder Direkt.)
• IP Adressen von DHCP Hosts werden automatisch aktualisiert. (Es wird immer die IPv6 sowie die erste IPv4 DNS Adresse ermittelt.)
• Ein Fehler in der Timer-Verwaltung wurde behoben. Damit tritt das Problem von sporadisch gestarteten Rechnern nicht mehr auf.
• Nach dem CSV Im-/Export sind die Dateien nun geschlossen und können verschoben / gelöscht werden.
• MSI Installationspaket (Signiert) verfügbar!

• You can now move / resize the columns in the detail view as you like. They are saved on exit and restored on startup. The feature to automatically adapt the column width to its content has been disabled as this was working against the manual sizing. If you want to autosize a column, double click the separator right to the column.
• Removed (the permantly disabled) WOL via TCP option. WOL via TCP only makes sense for „direct“ communication (WOL over internet), as TCP only works if the destination is online. It has the same result as WOL over UDP, therefore it is now removed.
• Added a new host attribute: WOL Mode. You can now overwrite the default WOL Mode (Broadcast, NetCast, Direct) per host.
• Added a feature to automatically update the IP addresses of DHCP hosts. The IP address is updated to the one that sends the ICMP reply. If IPv6 is enabled and the reply is received from an IPv6 address the tool will try to additionally update the IPv4 address. (The first address returned by the DNS will be used, see the log file for warnings!)
• The window position and state (maximized, minimized, normal, systray) is saved on exit and restored on startup.
• Fixed a bug where timers fired although they were disabled. (The timer itself had to be enabled, if so it would fire for all weekdays, even for those where it was not enabled.)
• CSV Im/Export: The files are now properly closed.
• Signed MSI setup available!

Dies ist ein Bugfix Release. Fehler die sich in Version 2.0.2.3 eingeschlichen hatten sind jetzt behoben.

Offen ist noch das Problem der Timer die um 0:00 oder 5:00 Uhr starten. Falls Sie das Problem haben, prüfen Sie das Verhalten bitte mit dieser Version und senden Sie mir ggfs. die Protokolldatei.

This is a bug fix release. All reported errors for version 2.0.2.3 were fixed.

The only remaining problem is the one with the timers that fire at 0:00 or 5:00 – If you’re having this problem, please use this version and send me the log file.

Note that on the first start up you will be prompted if you would like to take a short survey  about the wake on lan tool. I’d be happy if you take the 5 minutes to complete the survey. Its optional and anonymous.

Changes:

• The CSV import now displays the current progress and processes window messages, so the app does not hang while importing.
• Fixed the bug that the tool bars and menus are missing after closing WOL2 in minimized / systray mode.
• Changed the ‚Wake Host‘ icon to be GREEN. Shutdown is now RED, Reboot is YELLOW.
• Added a fallback for WakeOnLan on subnet level: If the host uses DHCP but the DNS server does not know an IP: use the one from the host’s settings. This fixes compatibility problems introduced with WOL 2.0.2.3.
• Timer code has been changed and now prints status to the log file.
• Added the option to set a note/comment to each hosts file. Comment is displayed if you hover the toolbar button.
• A survey is displayed on first launch.
